This is the Kusha scarf that is made from a mixture of Habu's extra fine merino and silk stainless steel. Something so oddly beautiful and ultra chic about it. You can really see the stitches (and mistakes - oh well).

When done with the knitting, you are supposed to wash it. Hmmm, I've felted before, so I'm not really afraid . . . . . after all that work . . . . but ALL THAT WORK! Will let you know what happens.

Flowers and Scarves

Just a bunch of finished scarves in a stack. Pretty.

Such a beautiful hot day today and the flowers are just bursting. Who will want to wear scarves?

What I am working on?

I am on vacation from work this week and working on projects. I have this habit of getting bored and not finishing things, so the way I fix that is I work on several things at once. It takes longer to complete one project, but now I actually finish everything. (well, not EVERYTHING - some ideas just don't work or the yarn is wrong, whatever.) I have learned to let go, too. Not every project can be perfect. Sometimes it is far more productive to just move on to something new and wonderful and that you can be excited about again.

On the left is a cashmere scarf I just finished in yellow and violet. I ended up having too much of these two yarns (that never happens), so I am going to "reverse" it and make the violet the main color in another scarf. This Habu cashmere is so lovely and airy. I still need to block the edges and sew in the label, but then it will be ready to go.
On the right is a cotton and tencel summer shawl. This yarn lets the stitch pattern really show.
So many luscious fibers out there to get my hands on!

The Beginning

Must think of charming, stunning, spectacular things to say. I can, of course, think of them, but time will be needed to get used this speaking on paper.

This is my little Belle. You will get to know her well. She likes to lie on the "decorator" pillows that get thrown on the floor at night. Frankly, they are there more often than on my freshly-made bed (cause I don't make the bed that often). I take comfort now in the idea that these pillows are put to some use - if only for a small tan ball of fluff.
